"Fisherman Out of Ireland was founded by the renowned Blarney Woollen Mills family business in 1991. For 30 years now we have been at the forefront of design led Irish knitwear. From the first stitch to the final press, each piece of our entire collection for men and women is made at our knitting factory in Kilcar, County Donegal, a small Gaeltacht (Irish speaking) village rich in the textile tradition and nestled between the Derryveagh mountains and the wild Atlantic ocean. It is this awe inspiring environment, along with the local fishing communities, which constantly feeds our inspiration when creating new yarns, colours and styles for each new Collection. We might be situated on the edge of Europe in the middle of ‘nowhere’ but our 100% natural fibre, quality, contemporary jumpers are shipped far and wide to the 4 corners of the world.
We are a close knit team of 38 people. Many of us have worked on creating Fisherman for over 25 years. Some of our loyal staff are pictured here on our trade stand at Showcase, Ireland in January 2020 shortly before the unprecedented events of the last year unrolled.
